Champion Mullins registers 1-2 in Gowran's opener
Some Neck leads Up For Review over the last

Champion Trainer Willie Mullins registered a 1-2 in the opening www.gowranpark.ie Beginners Chase at Gowran today, but not as the market suggest would happen, with bigger priced Some Neck (3/1) beating stablemate and favourite Up For Review (9/10f) into second place.
Leader Up For Review went clear from the fourth last fence but, on his return following a near two year layoff, ultimately tired in the home straight and was headed by winner Some Neck at the final fence. Six lengths separated the pair at the line.
Winning jockey David Mullins later commented “we just thought he might need the run having not run in a while (since January 2017) and his first run over fences but he's done it well. He was careful early on but warmed up nicely into it.
"I was fairly confident they were going a right good gallop and they weren't going to the go to the line like that. He came alive under me going down the hill, and I knew that I'd pick them off.
"He gets away with two and a half on this ground going a good gallop but he wants further really."
