Champion Jockey wins on Day Dream Boy

The Eddie Cawley trained and owned Day Dream Boy justified 11/4 favouritism to win the Follow Fairyhouse On Facebook Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse today, surviving a Stewards' Enquiry in the process.
Ridden by Champion Jockey Davy Russell, the winner bumped into short-head runner-up Easy Vic at the final flight but bump was marginal and the result was allowed stand.
Following the win Cawley stated “he's a good old servant but is no flying machine! He's just tough and I'd love a four-mile for him – that's the sort he is.
“Davy (Russell) said when Easy Vic came to him he was just slogging away and that he is idle but maybe that's a good thing! Racing takes nothing out of him as he does so little and he might run in the Pertemps Qualifier at Punchestown over three miles. He'll jump a fence after having another one or two runs over hurdles as time is getting on with him.”
