Cawley rides out claim on Nash
Owner John Magnier registered a rare maiden hurdle winner at Limerick today when his Captain Nash provided jockey Alain Cawley with his 55th career winner, and his last as a claiming jockey, when winning the Funk Junkies 23rd July Twilight Music Maiden Hurdle for trainer Paul Nolan.
The son of Dushyantor raced in mid-division before progressing to dispute the lead from the second last flight, eventually holding the challenge of Duneen Point by a short head.
Nolan subsequently reported "I'm delighted for Alain to ride out his claim and its great to do so on a John Magnier owner horse!"
He added "Captain Nash is quirky but has loads of ability and won his point to point well. Alain was very good on him."him.%u201D
