- Carberry scores again on Fasolo
Carberry scores again on Fasolo
Fasolo proved easy to back in the concluding bumper at Cork but did the business under Nina Carberry.
Charlie Swan 's charge made a promising debut when second at Down Royal last Thursday and turned out again quickly to go one better.
Carberry drove her mount (2/1 to 3/1) into the lead a furlong-and-a-half from home and the Monsun gelding stuck on well in the closing stages to beat 9/4 favourite Really Unique by a length-and-a-half.
It was a fourth winner in four days for Carberry, who again showed her worth in amateur events.
"I took a chance running him back so quickly but you have to take a chance in life!," said Swan afterwards.
"It didn't look the hottest of races and he's a tough horse so that's why I ran him so quick. He'll have a bit of a break now."
