Caolaneoin confirms debut promise
The Seamus Fahey trained Caolaneoin under his son James Fahey, confirmed the big impression he made on his debut last month when winning the concluding Kilternan Bumper at Leopardstown today.
The son of King’s Theatre, second to the well touted Lovethehigherlaw on debut, was produced to lead inside the final furlong eventually staying on well for a three parts of a length win.
Afterwards Monasterevin based Fahey stated “I’m delighted for Caolaneoin’s owners after deciding not to sell him after his good debut run. He is a real longterm prospect and he needs a big galloping track.”
He added “it depends what he is like after this win but all being well he’ll go for the final of the Rockview Series at The Curragh next before then going for a bumper at Punchestown.”
Today's final Tote figure of €883,662 was a course record.
