Call Me Rocky was a warm order for division two of the LimerickRaces.ie maiden over a mile, and Shane Kelly kept it simple off the front.
The pair were always to the fore and went for home inside the final two furlongs.
Call Me Rocky (11/8 favourite) stuck to his task to fend off 11/2 shot Big White Chief by a length and quarter. Thaleeq (9/4) kept on in third, a neck away.
Johnny Murtagh said: "He is a big baby and is better back at that trip; there were no maidens for him at that trip when he ran him at Roscommon so we had to start him at 1m2f and he was fresh.
"He was back at this trip on this ground, and it suited him, and he was sure to come on from the run the last day.
"We'll see what the handicapper does now."
