Henry de Bromhead's Calino D'Airy maintained his progress when winning Galway's rated novice chase over an extended two and a quarter miles.

The five-year-old gelding scored over course and distance earlier in the month and again made all.

His market rival, Dont Tell No One tried to challenge after the last as the pair faced the long uphill run-in.

It was Calino D'Airy who saw it out best though, as he saw off Dont Tell No One by two and three quarter lengths.

He rewarded favourite backers who took the 6/4. Dont Tell No One was a 2/1 chance.

Jockey JJ Slevin said: "I was delighted to get the ride and he is a nice horse for the future and jumps savage. He has won his point-to-point and is a good gutsy horse who got a bit lonely up the hill. It is a big old hill home and he was just looking around.

"He has a future and is a good jumper who is definitely capable of stepping up in grade.

"He had a bit of a scare at the second which was probably more my fault than his.
