Rhythm And Tyne (2/1f) followed up last month's Dundalk win with a second success today, landing the concluding Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap (div II) for trainer Charles Byrnes, jcokey Adam Caffrey and owner Anna Rowney.
The Elzaam three-year-old landed a gamble when scoring by a half-length on November 15 and today, rated 5lb higher and again ridden by Caffrey, won by that same margin from Hinemoa
Byrnes' son and assistant Cathal was on lead-up duty and afterwards Caffrey commented “I thought he won with a bit in hand the last day as he didn't do too much when he got there.
"Today we had a bad draw (in 12) to overcome and I wanted to be more forward than what I was but there was plenty of pace into the first bend so I elected to take my time.
"Luckily, they have gone along at a nice gallop and he has picked up really well. He put the head down and battled all the way to the line. He has saved a small bit again, I think, but time will tell.
"He relaxed really well too during that race and I don't think 1m4f would be any bother to him either."
