Charles Byrnes landed the featured Galway Plate Trial Handicap Chase in Limerick With Rock On Fruity who was the second leg of a double for the trainer.

Mark Enright had him in second as Definite Soldier went for home turning in. Enright looked to have plenty of horse under him as his mount closed on the leader two out.

However, Rock On Fruity wasn't fluent at that fence and was soon shaken up by Enright to try and reel in Definite Soldier.

Rock On Fruity responded and was on terms with Definite Soldier at the last before staying on best along the run-in to prevail by three parts of a length.

He landed a bit of a touch in being backed from 12/1 to 7/1. Definite Soldier was also a 7/1 chance. Phil's Magic the 5/1 favourite, was back in third ahead of Aranhill Chief (14/1) who was prominent throughout.

Charles Byrnes said: "He was probably a bit unlucky at Kilbeggan but his jumping has come recently and that's the main thing. It took him ages to learn to jump - he was just ploughing fences and the last day at Kilbeggan he definitely went down as an unlucky loser.

"In fairness to the handicapper he only put him up 2lbs for that and I'm delighted to give Mark (Enright) a winner as he is local to me.

"He might be a possible for the Midlands National at Kilbeggan (on July 21) next."
