The Charles Byrnes trained Minnies Secret was the well backed winner of the concluding Lyons Of Limerick (Mares) Bumper on day one of the Limerick Christmas festival today, scoring under jockey ay Barron.
The daughter of Beneficial had previously gained a black-type placing in a Gowran Listed bumper in September and today routed her rivals when scoring a 19 lengths win.
Minnies Secret had today been backed from 9/4 on track, in to the 6/4 favourite and afterwards Byrnes said “she loves the ground and while she hasn't a whole lot of speed, she can go the same speed on good ground as she can on that ground.
“Her run in Gowran was a good run and I'll go for a winners' bumper next as she's not great to jump.”
