Trainer Charles Byrnes scored a first win since Domination provided him with a maiden Royal Ascot win last month when his In A Nutshell landed the Derek Ryan Plays Live 24th July Handicap Hurdle at Limerick today.
Ridden by Davy Russell, the 13/2 favourite and winner outbattled Count Salazar on the run-in for a neck win.
Byrnes, whose Domination was since third in a Listed race at Sandown yesterday, stated “it's nearly two years since he (In A Nutshell) ran here last and today he was running from a 5lbs lower mark. He likes that ground and they went a really good gallop which suited.
“He looked beaten but Davy gave him a great ride. We'll tip away with him over the summer.”
