Byrne at his best aboard Kilmannin
Harry Rogers was in the winner’s enclosure this afternoon after his charge Kilmannin landed the Stephen Quirke Memorial Apprentice Handicap.
Promising 10lb claimer Daryl Byrne sent the son of College Chapel to the front over one furlong out and stayed on in good style to beat Harriers Call by six lengths.
“The fast pace of the race really suited him, he’s been a great servant to us,” said Rogers.
“I was delighted for Daryl as he has been unlucky on a few lately. The ground helped but going fast just really suited him.”
