Bynre off the mark at Naas
Daryl Byrne recorded his first winner of the season when winning the Naasracecourse.com Handicap aboard 20/1 shot Cheval Rouge
Byrne who settled his mount in rear came with a late run on the outer to get up and lead inside the final furlong.
The pair soon forged clear to record a cosy two and a half length win over 2/1 favourite School Holidays
Winning trainer Harry Rogers said afterwards: “He was running well the last day in Leopardstown but then he downed tools entering the straight.”
“We put a pair of blinds (blinkers) on him today and they seemed to have made all the difference.”
“It was nice for Daryl [Byrne] he gets on well with this lad and hopefully he gets going again, he had a nice few winners late last season.”
