Buzz Light readily picked off Clever Currency in the final quarter of a mile to take the Sheridan Electric Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
Sean Flanagan's mount travelled well in this extended two and a quarter mile contest and swallowed up Clever Currency before the last.
He took a few lengths out of the former leader jumping that flight and was soon ridden to go and win his race.
The Leading Light gelding was kept up to his work by Sean Flanagan to come in nine lengths clear at 14/1. Varna Gold came through for second at 14/1 with a weakening Clever Currency back in third at 6/1.
Trainer Michael Mulvany said: “We were confident enough coming here that he’d handle the ground as he’s out-and-out National-Hunt bred.
“It wasn’t far enough for him the last day and we knew he’d get the trip. He’ll probably go on his holidays now. He’s not very big but he’s hardy.
"I was kind of half having a think about the Lartigue Hurdle (in Listowel) - I'd like to have a little go if the handicapper doesn't get over carried away. If he gave him a mark of around 110 I think we would have a chance in the Lartigue Hurdle. Normally you get soft ground in Listowel, you'd love a few furlongs further but sometimes at that time of year two miles can feel like three (miles).
