Patsy's Honour was the first winning foal from Galway festival legend Busted Tycoon today, producing a fine performance to win Down Royal's Molson Coors I.N.H. Bumper for trainer Tony Martin and jockey Harry Swan.
Martin trained Busted Tycoon to three remarkable wins at the 2013 Galway festival for owner John Breslin who in 2015 bred the mare to Cape Cross, with the resulting foal being Patsy's Honour.
Patsy's Honour was well beaten in a previous bumper 387 days ago but today, at 25/1, showed good reserves of stamina when staying on well for pressure in the final half-mile to win with ears pricked from Pats Choice
Swan, himself a son of Galway conqueror Charlie Swan, later said "he definitely has strengthened up. I don't think the first run showed his ability, he was very good today.
"He travelled nicely and going up the hill he had a blow, and just kept travelling off the bridle.
"He will probably be a big strong stayer in the future and is one to look forward to.”
