Few horses manage to win a bumper and a seven furlong flat maiden but the Aidan Howard trained Not A Whisper completed the feat at Fairyhouse today, winning the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden, under jockey Leigh Roche.
The daughter of Kodiac won her bumper first-time out at Navan in September 2015 and today, on her third flat start, proved a neck too strong for Katiymann
Following the race, Howard stated “I was lucky to win a bumper because of her (flat) pedigree. Last day I ran her over a mile and she just didn't get home and I was beaten by a very good filly of Dermot Weld's (Sea Swift).
"Coming here today I was hopeful and she did it well. The only thing I was afraid of was the ground - that's as quick as she would want it and she’d like summer soft."
