Bulbul looks a filly to follow
Bulbul produced a brilliant turn of foot to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden over six furlongs in impressive fashion for her trainer Kevin Prendergast with Declan McDonogh aboard
The daughter of Shamardal was having her second start today having finished sixth on her debut at Leopardstown over seven furlongs in August just over four lengths behind Lady Wingshot.
The 6/4 favourite Bird's Eye View for Tommy Stack and Fran Berry hit the front over a furlong out but had no answer to the surge of the winner who kept on strongly inside the final furlong to win easily by four and three parts of a length at the odds of 7/2.
Bird's Eye View kept on to take second while 50/1 outsider Steely Grace stayed on well to take third on her debut for Mick Halford and Gary Carroll.
The winner is a half sister to some decent sorts including Famous Warrior who won two for Kevin Prendergast and was group race placed.
Winning trainer Kevin Prendergast said afterwards: "She won’t run again this season but she will have no problem getting a mile in time."
Winning rider Declan McDonogh added: "She is from a very good family. She was working very well at home with good horses. She stretched out well today."
