Dylan Browne McMonagle bagged a double at Navan this afternoon when Naturally Nimble gained an overdue win in the concluding Lynn Lodge Stud Maiden.
The Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding had been placed three times in his previous six outings and was sent to post an 11/4 shot to make the breakthrough.
Browne McMonagle produced his mount to lead a furlong from home and he stayed on well in the closing stages to post a two-length win over 25/1 shot Dahab
The winning rider said:-"He was entitled to do that.
"I always thought he was a nice horse and just took a while to come to hand.
"He has always been hitting the crossbar in competitive enough races. All the maidens he got touched off in, he was beaten by nice horses. When he was beaten here, he was beaten by Donnacha (O'Brien)'s filly (Lady Doris) who went on to win the Ulster Oaks.
"We were confident here today, it was very straightforward. We went nice and even the whole way and I was able to angle him out and keep the momentum up, and he was a good winner at the line.
"He was definitely good and tough, and he would have no problem going 1m4f. I think the best is yet to come, hopefully."
