Brown gets deserved victory
Turner Brown gained a deserved success when claiming the Country & Western Raceday Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick.
Michael O'Hare 's charge has filled the runner-up spot on his last three outings but made no mistake this time.
Katie Walsh sent him to the front three from home and he galloped on strongly in the closing stages to fend off the challenge of Excellent As Usual by three lengths.
"He's consistent and deserves that. We'll give him a break now and take him to Listowel as long as the ground is good," said O'Hare.
"He'll go chasing next season. He wouldn't run during the winter as he wants decent ground so we'll put him away after Listowel."
