Glacial Drift made a successful debut in the Glenpatrick Sport Horses bumper at Down Royal but only just under a last gasp challenge by Declan Queally. Kalopsia looked set to justify 7/4 favouritism for Sarah and Aidan O'Brien when getting the better of a protracted battle in the straight with And The New but that was not counting on Queally who timed his move to perfection.

The Tom Taaffe-trained filly, a four-year-old by Rail Link, got up in literally the final stride at odds of 16/1.

Just a short-head separated the pair, with And The New another two and a half lengths back in third.

Taaffe said: "This is a good filly and she's very well-bred. We bought her in Tatts in December, and she's a half sister to Wicklow Brave. She'll probably go for a winners' bumper. She's only four. It's a first winner for the owner (Catherine Magnier)."
