- Boy delights Elliott and Gallagher
Boy delights Elliott and Gallagher
A half-brother to a Grade 1 winner in the shape of Garruth, Bacher Boy has plenty of ability too and he justified heavy support (9/4 in the morning into 11/10) in the Sam Dennigan & Co. Hurdle.
Paul Carberry led before three out on the son of Bach and despite showing obvious signs of inexperience, the six-year-old did what was required to beat his main rival, Auenschutze by three parts of a length.
Winning trainer, Gordon Elliott (fresh from a couple of trebles at Perth during the week) said: "That's the end of a brilliant week. This is great for Sean (Gallagher, shared in some of the Elliott winners at Perth) as he is a Bellewstown man and it is his first winner here.
"So it is happy days for the both of us as Sean hit the crossbar here a couple of times last night (Makhaaleb and Thistimesforgood were both placed)."
