Bowes shines on Bets
Any Bets was given a perfect hold up ride by Matty Bowes to claim the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase at Cork.
The Oliver McKiernan-trained gelding was produced to challenge at the final fence and soon hit the front.
He kept on well in the closing stages to post a two-and-a-half length success over Mantell
The race complexion changed when 11/8 favourite The Buck crashed out at the fith fence.
"That was his first handicap and he did it alright. I suppose the favourite falling was a big help," said McKiernan.
"The drying ground was a help as well and this has been a lucky place for us."
