- Bowe hits Thurles target with Coolcashin
Bowe hits Thurles target with Coolcashin
Co Kilkenny trainer Michael Bowe, of Limestone Lad and Solerina fame, saddled his Coolcashin to win the Glen Chase at Thurles today, justifying 10/11 favouritism, to win by a neck.
Ridden by Tom Doyle, the son of Taipan raced prominently throughout but needed a strong drive from Doyle to eventually get his head in front on the run-in, to defeat Faltering Fullback
Afterwards Bowe reported “I'm delighted to get a win at my local track – I'm only 20 minutes from Thurles.”
He added “Coolcashin is a stone better on better ground and hated that ground today. Tom gave him a super ride and while there's a three miles chase at Leopardtown and a 2m3f chase at Limerick over Christmas, he is not certain to run in either and may wait until after Christmas to run next.”
