Shane Foley earned the plaudits from trainer Michael Halford after he'd gotten the Nicky Hartery-owned and bred Asbury Boss home by three parts of a length from the unfortunate Break My Mind in the Listowel Printing Works Maiden.
Foley was never far away on the Dalakhani colt from his wide draw.
Billy Lee meanwhile, aboard Break My Mind, got tightened up on the inside when going for a run before the straight.
He also lost his whip in the final furlong and eventually couldn't get to Asbury Boss who'd led from under three furlongs out.
Halford stated in the aftermath: "He had a very wide draw and Shane done well to get him forward and he was three wide all the way.
"He stays galloping really well and Shane said he was always holding them. You'd want to be fit to push him though!
"We'll see what the handicapper does with him now but he's a horse that I don't think we'll see the best of until next year and even further on.
"He's gutsy. He's taken a few runs to learn his job and he's the type that you could always up in trip."
There was no alteration to the judge's placings after a steward's enquiry.

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any rider, they made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.
