After the demise of their lovely servant Mystery Stowaway in a fall in the opener, trainer John Ryan and jockey Danny Mullins got a boost in race two at Tramore, Le Hachette winning the Pat Woodbyrne Memorial Beginners Chase in battling style.

Understandably the win meant plenty to Mullins as he gestured with a clenched fist crossing the line and his mount certainly pulled it out for him here when required.

Just a length and a half and half a length split the first three. The geldings Elegant Dan (2/1 favourite) and Guttural couldn’t match the determination of the successful daughter of Yeats.

"I lost my mare (Mystery Stowaway) in the first, she was a superstar, I'd say she was a black-type mare. I shouldn't have ran her over fences and I'm sick now," said Ryan.

"It's great to see this one win. She is a nice little mare but she is what she is. Danny gave her a serious ride. He is very much part of what I do. He is a great friend as well as a great jockey."

The Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Le Hachette ridden by D. E. Mullins and Elegant Dan ridden by J. J. Slevin where it appeared that the two horses bumped. Having reviewed the recording and considered the matter the Stewards decided that no further action was warranted.
