Bold Approach made all to win the featured E25,000 Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap at Dundalk today, as the Group 3 placed colt scored for trainer Jim Bolger and jockey Kevin Manning.
The home-bred son of Bolger's Classic winner Dawn Approach was a high class juvenile, winning on debut at Leopardstown before filling second place to this year's Derby winner Anthony Van Dyck in the Tyros Stakes, also at Leopardstown.
Today he ended a seven race losing run when beating Sky Seven by a length and a half.
Bolger's traveling head man Ger Flynn later commented “he handled the surface here the last day and he was better off with Jessie’s (Harrington, fourth placed Charcor horse today. He’s won on merit there tonight.
“Kevin gave him a fantastic ride. He dictated it from the front, quickened up and put the race to bed turning in.
“It’s a lovely prize and nice for the owners (Rectory Road Holdings Limited) and the boss.”
