Bolger's Wave wins Nursery
The Jim Bolger trained Solar Wave (7/1) won on her handicap debut at Gowran today, landing a maiden victory in the Join the Gowran Park Racing Club Nursery, under jockey Kevin Manning.
Manning tracked the leaders on the daughter of Vocalised and the pair gradually made headway to eventually lead inside the final furlong, for a length and three parts win over well backed 6/5f Outside Inside
Bolger later commented “she only has one eye but it doesn’t seem to do her any harm and she seems to handle any ground. It looks like she will get a bit further and she’s out of a mare by Galileo and that always helps.
“We’ll see what the handicapper does and she may go for another nursery.”
