The J.P. McManus owned, Enda Bolger trained Ballyoisin made all for an impressive win in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase at Fairyhouse today, jumping boldly to win under jockey Barry Geraghty.
The point to point and wide margin maiden hurdle winning son of Presenting was a faller, when leading, on his reappearance run at the venue on New Year’s Day and today needed firm handling from Geraghty. Ballyoisin raced with enthusiasm throughout and in the end Geraghty sent him clear of Townshend after the second last fence, before scoring a six lengths win over that rival.
Afterwards Geraghty, who won yesterday’s Lanzarote Hurdle on Modus also for McManus, stated “he jumped well and I’d say he learned from the last day. He has very little experience but he picked up well from the second last and could do no more than he did.”
