Bolger/Manning complete newcomer double
Trainer Jim Bolger and stable jockey and son-in-law Kevin Manning recorded a 194/1 newcomers double at Roscommon today, completing the brace with Gift From The Sea in the Ballyleague Fillies Maiden.
Earlier successful with another debutante Hurricane Havoc Manning and Bolger doubled up with Gift From The Sea, a 145,000Gns Tattersalls yearling purchase. The daughter of Bernstein raced in mid-division before progressing to lead inside the final furlong, running out the easy three and a half lengths winner.
Manning subsequently stated “Gift From The Sea did it well and handled the ground and trip well – she’ll improve plenty from the run.”
