The Pieta House Darkness Into Light 5K Walk/Run Handicap Hurdle produced a second winning favourite from three races at Kilbeggan as the Mark Bolger-ridden Flaviana (9/2) gained the day.
Trained by Jessica Harrington, Flaviana, a mares maiden victor at Down Royal last August, tracked the leaders this time.
The daughter of Flemensfirth led before the second last, and she stayed on well on the run-in to beat off Dixie Highway (mistake at the last) by half a length.
"She appreciated the better ground," remarked Bolger.
"She's always showed us a bit, and put it all together today. She's a bit keen and would like a true run race."
