Bolger strikes in Naas opener
Newcomer Kitty Kiernan showed a powerful turn of foot to claim the opening fillies maiden at Naas tonight.
Kevin Manning sent his mount on from under two furlongs out and she galloped on strongly to score by two-and-a-half lengths. Lillie Langtry was a big eye catcher in second, putting in some strong work in the final furlong under Johnny Murtagh.
"If this filly turns out as good as last year's winner, Cuis Ghaire, she'll do," said winning trainer Jim Bolger.
"She's a good limbed filly and acts well on decent ground."
