Jim Bolger’s Turret Rocks returned to winning ways at the Curragh today, landing the featured Group 3 Irish StallionFarms EBF Blue Wind Stakes under the trainer’s stable jockey Kevin Manning.
The daughter of Fastnet Rock was a high class two year old filly in 2015, finishing second in the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac, before ultimately disappointing last year but returned to form today when scoring a three parts of a length win over Laganore
Afterwards Bolger said “the key to her is the good ground and I was going to pull her out at Gowran (on seasonal reappearance). She will stay further and the long term target is the Yorkshire Oaks (fifth in that race in 2016).”
Regarding another of winning owner June Judd’s other horses, he added “I don’t think Vociferous Marina will run (in the Musidora Stakes) at York on Wednesday, and we will probably supplement her for the (Irish) Guineas.”
