Champion Trainer Aidan O’Brien and jockey Seamus Heffernan completed a double at Leopardstown today as their Elizabeth Browning gained an elusive maiden win, arriving from off the pace to win the TheTote.com EBF Fillies Nursery.
The daughter of Galileo and sister to Criterium International Stakes Group 1 winner Johannes Vermeer was today winning at the tenth attempt and in the end benefitted from a well judged Heffernan ride to edge to the front close home for a three parts of a length win over Althiba
Afterwards O’Brien stated “we always thought she was a Group filly as he has an awful lot of ability but has been a little bit hard to get right. Seamus gave her a peach today and it looks like she should get a mile. We might put her away for the winter now and hopefully can get some black-print next year.”
