Bleakfield makes all in Wexford opener
Bleakfield Lady took the honour of being the first winner of the 2011 season at Wexford racecourse this afternoon winning the 2m, first division, of the Curracloe Maiden Hurdle.
The 6yo Turtle Island mare made all and jumped well under Robbie Colgan to fend off all challengers.
The strong 2/5fav Fever Pitch lost his chance when making a terrible mistake at the last when under pressure.
Winning trainer John Ryan said: "We fancied her strongly to win her point first time out, we changed tactics today and she is a lovely type of mare."
