Rachael Blackmore doubled up at Navan today when Somptueux ran out a convincing winner of the beginners chase on the card.
The Henry de Bromhead-trained gelding had been second on his first outing over fences at Downpatrick late last month and went one better in good style this afternoon.
Blackmore sent the 5/2 shot up to lead three from home and he pulled clear from the next to record a eight-length success over Fred The Foot
Blackmore had also struck on Annexation for the yard in the opener and she said:-
“It was a good performance. He had a lovely run the last day in Downpatrick. He enjoys jumping.”
