The Aidan O’Brien trained Black Hawk War (11/10) maintained his unbeaten record at Limerick today when following up his debut win at the venue on Monday with a second course win in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Anglo Race.
Ridden again by the trainer’s son Donnacha O’Brien, the son of War Front chased even money favourite Sharliyna for much of today’s race but quickened past inside the final furlong before scoring a three parts of a length win.
Following the race jockey O’Brien stated “he learned plenty from his first run and has a good attitude and is clear winded which helps.
“Being by War Front, you’d imagine he’d want better ground but it doesn’t feel like that to ride him. You’d hope he’ll continue to improve now.”
