The O'Brien family enjoyed a nice success in the Supporters Club Evening May 19th Handicap at Clonmel as Birthplace (7/2 joint favourite) got the job done under Ana.
Following up a Limerick success from April 23rd, the chestnut son of Galileo found plenty when required to see off the outsider of the seven participants, Storm Ranger by three parts of a length.
"The ground was a help to him and the three-year-olds also get a nice allowance at this time of year," said Joseph.
"I think he'll stay further and he handles that ground. If the handicapper isn't too hard on him hopefully he'll get another one."
W.M. Lordan, rider of Posing (USA) trained by David Wachman, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise in running.
