Bint Dandy makes her experience count

For the second time in as many races the betting proved of little assistance to punters as 3/1 shot Bint Dandy (Chris Hayes up) saw off odds-on chance Jocular (Jamie Spencer) in the Dundalk Stadium – Light Up Your Night Median Auction Maiden.
The Qatar Racing Limited-owned and Johnny Murtagh-trained newcomer Jocular was one of the first of the 'big guns' off the bridle but in fairness to him he kept finding for pressure.
However it wasn't enough to cope with the Paul Deegan-trained Bit Dandy (had the benefit of a previous third placing to her name) and she stayed on tenaciously to prevail by a neck from Jocular with Camakasi half a length off them in third.
"It was a muddling sort of pace which probably suited her more than some of the others.
"She's come forward well from her first run and Chris said she's tough.
"She lost a back shoe (off-hind, over a furlong out) and we'll find a three-year-old handicap for her somewhere," reported Deegan. (AM & EM)
