Palmones landed a substantial gamble in Gowran Park when making all in the extended mile and one handicap.
She was trading at 20/1 this morning but was backed down to 11/2 on the off.
The Rock Of Gibraltar filly broke smartly, with Conor Hoban in the plate, to take the field along.
She was a couple of lengths clear and ridden over a furlong out before keeping on well to take the spoils by four and a quarter lengths. Burma Star could make no impression on the winner in second at 4/1 while the 7/4 favourite, Protocol came in a further six lengths back in third.
“I was beginning to think I shouldn't come to the racing as the last few winners I've had I haven't been there,” handler Andrew Oliver said.
“She won well. Conor gave her a lovely ride and let her roll along. She disappointed in Navan last time and looked a different filly today. Obviously she handled the ground very well.
“We'll see what the handicapper does now and move on from there.”
