Declan McDonogh doubled his score at Down Royal as half-an-hour after his Ulster Derby success on Alhellal he was on the mark again in the European Breeders Fund Coolmore Stud Ulster Oaks Fillies Handicap on Gavin Cromwell's Balrath Hope McDonogh fans that did the double would be rewarded at odds of 71/1.
McDonogh dictated it beautifully from the front on Balrath Hope and despite the Intikhab filly giving a flick of her tail inside the last she kept going well to beat Livia Galilei by two and a half lengths.
Screen, County Meath-based Cromwell, enjoying his biggest win on the flat, said: "She got the trip and loved the ground.
"Declan rode a great race on her, he eased up in the middle of the race.
"He rang me during the week as he thought the weights would go up. He had to do a pound overweight but he knows her so well.
"I might try to get some black-type with her." (MG & EM)
