There was an all Wicklow conclusion to the Bet Now With The Ladbrokes App Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown with My Betty (16/1) seeing off Definite Soldier (25/1).
Trained at Glenealy by Peter Croke My Betty (Adam Short up) eventually got the better of fellow prominent racer Definite Soldier by two lengths.
The runner-up is handled by John Andrew Kinsella at Rathdrum.
"It didn't exactly go to plan but she is a mare that I know a long time and I actually led her up in her bumpers. It's great to win on her," said Short.
"I rode her in Kilbeggan last year over three miles and thought she didn't stay. She is ten years old now but she is still improving.
"The plan was to follow Definite Soldier. She usually is quite keen and a front-runner but she relaxed the last day so we said we would try the same again. She just started rolling and there was no point fighting her. She did relax in front, is tough and hardy and stayed galloping."
The Stewards fined M.F.Morris, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Spring Watch, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Spring Watch in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(iv).
Patrick G.Kelly, trainer of Eagle Lion (FR), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge burst a blood vessel in running.
