Better luck for Byrnes with Knockfierna
Trainer Charles Byrnes and jockey Philip Enright, out of luck with the gambled on Milborough in the opener, were on the mark in the Hook Mares Beginners Chase at Wexford today with Knockfierna
The daughter of Flemensfirth was all out to eventually defeat Stephanie Kate by three parts of a length and Byrnes later stated “Knockfierna is a brilliant mare to jump and stays really well.
“There’s a Grade 2 chase at Limerick over Christmas for her and that is the obvious target. There’s also the option of a two miles chase at Cork too but the trip might be a bit of a worry.”
