Beth Impresses
Andy Oliver who enjoyed great success with Perfect Polly last term has the broodmare Nashira to thank for another winner as her daughter by Deportivo, Beth came on sufficiently from her debut twenty five days ago to take the opener at Sligo under Padraig Beggy.
A first winner in Ireland for her sire (quite possibly from his only runner over here), the 6/1 shot made all and kept on well from over a furlong out to fend off the favourite, Lough Mist by two lengths.
Oliver said, "We think Beth is a very nice filly. We have taken our time with her, she had a nice first run and came on from that. She did it very professionally there and I was delighted with the ride that Padraig gave her. We'll see how she comes out of the race but hopefully she is good enough to go up in class now." (EM)
