Fran Berry completed a 38/1 double at Dundalk when adding to his earlier gains on the Andy Oliver-trained Power Struggle as Excelli proved best in the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap.
On start number two for Aidan Howard, the successful chestnut got to the front inside the final furlong having chased the leaders through the mile 47 to 65 contest.
The son of Great Exhibition asserted his superiority in the closing stages to defeat Twistsandturns by a length and three parts.
Howard was on lead-up duties in the aftermath.
Excelli was equipped with first-time cheek-pieces for this win.
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Tom Dooley trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount had to check in the straight.
