The Tony Martin trained Benefficient put his previous chasing experience to good use when making all for a win in the Porter & Co. Beginners Steeplechase at Down Royal today, scoring under Paul Townend.
The Grade 1 winning hurdler finished second at Listowel on his chase debut in September and comfortably made all for win today over El Fontan
Afterwards Martin stated “he needed the run at Listowel and it was very heavy there. He is a good horse and is stronger and better this year.
“He's a really good moving horse and would like better ground. He'll have one more run before Christmas - probably in three weeks time.”
