Benash leads them home in bumper

Sat 5th Dec 2009, 15:50

Benash produced a fine front-running performance to take the concluding bumper at Navan.

Padraig Roche 's mount repelled all comers in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter victory over 5/4f Gormanstown Cuckoo

"I thought I'd win the maiden hurdle but I didn't!," said trainer John Carr. "This is a fair horse. He needed the run badly the last day."

"I could do with a change of luck. My horses are going well. He might go for a winners bumper at Leopardstown over Christmas."
