Four-year-old Kayf Tara gelding Beckett Rock made a bright start to his career with victory in the PRL Group Maiden Hurdle (DIV I) at Gowran.
The issue wasn't completely done when the pursuing Cut The Rope seemed to overjump the last and come down.
Then for owner Michael O'Flynn, trainer Henry de Bromhead and rider Mike O'Connor, the 10/1 winner went on to registered a fifteen length verdict over 6/4 favourite Joyeux Vivo
“That was good first time out. He took a lead, jumped well and handled the ground. It was fairly straight forward and he finished out the race well," reported O'Connor.
S. O'Callaghan, rider of Queen Nel trained by R.P.Cody, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged left in the home straight.
