Beau Michael wins at Limerick

Mon 3rd May 2010, 15:59

The Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Beginners Steeplechase at Limerick went to the Ado McGuinness trained Beau Michael under Andrew Lynch.

Beau Michael benefited from a crucial final fence mistake from Norther Bay to win a length at the line. Unfortunately Raise Your Heart took a fatal fall when challenging at the second last fence.

Afterwards McGuinness stated “He's been very consistent and ran well behind Sizing Europe early last season. We decided to keep him a novice for this season, and he'll be campaigned with Galway in mind,” said McGuinness.

“He also has a nice mark on the Flat, and will mix it over the summer. I must also congratulate Limerick on the condition of the track today. The ground is in excellent shape.”
