Speirling Beag knuckled down well to emerge on top in a tight finish to the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Gowran.
The Jim Bolger-trained filly was making her fourth start this afternoon and had been third at Cork ten days ago.
Kevin Manning produced the 15/2 shot to claim front-runner Delightful in the closing stages and she had half a length to spare over Lumiere Rock at the line.
Delightful was a neck further back in third while newcomer Sounds Of Heaven finished off well in fourth, a half length back.
“She had a good run in Cork the last day. She stays very well and handles that ease in the ground,” said Manning.
“She stepped forward again from Cork and we're happy with that performance. I think plenty of winners will come out of that, it was a decent maiden.”
