Bay upsets hot-pot
Nantucket Bay upset the odds when staying on well to get the better of 1/3 favourite Wakhan in the mile and five furlongs maiden.
The 7/2 second favourite made virtually all under Joseph O'Brien and, after being challenged in the straight, kept on best in the final furlong to beat the hot-pot by a length.
O'Brien, partnering his eleventh winner of the season, said: “He improved from his first run. He's a bit green but he stays well. Hopefully he'll keep progressing through the season, and he's a very game horse.”
The start was delayed five minutes after a number of horses proved troublesome to load. Our Breff and Let The Heirs Walk were both withdrawn for refusing to enter stalls.
